Curriculum Vitae

Eva Xenou was born in Athens and studied at the Athens Conservatory, where she studied contemporary singing with professors F. Epifanios and Anna Diamantopoulou, as well as classical guitar with Liza Zoï. At the same time, she studied the oud with Haig Yazdjian and Eastern music theory with Christos Tsiamoulis. She holds a degree in contemporary singing, having graduated with honors under the guidance of internationally renowned soprano Christina Spiliakopoulou. In 2003, she began her professional career, collaborating with leading folk music virtuosos such as Nikos Tatassopoulos, Yiannis Papavasiliou, Manolis Pappos, Vangelis Korakakis, and Dimitris Mystakidis, as well as important performers of folk and rebetiko songs, such as Babis Goles and Agathonas. She has participated in recording projects, as well as television and radio broadcasts. With a constant desire for artistic development and exploration, she continues to study the oud and makam alongside Evgenios Voulgaris. At the same time, she has created her own musical trio, with which she presents a repertoire that bridges the traditional and the contemporary, highlighting her own distinctive interpretive identity.
